My 2 main areas of work are to help make General practice be more CYP friendly and secondly to map the sick and injured child pathway in Newcastle, so that CYP and their families know how to seek the appropriate care at the appropriate part of the pathway. Focussing on possible web and app based information tools and mapping the asthma pathway as a model for other conditions in children.

I have been Clinical Lead for CYP for Newcastle since January 2014, but I am now delighted to expand my remit to also include CYP and their families in Gateshead. I will be developing links with those working within Primary Care in Gateshead to help support them with their work with CYP as well as liaising with secondary care colleagues in paediatrics. I am already a member of the Gateshead North of Tyne(GNOT) Paediatric Network and will continue to work on mapping the asthma pathway for CYP in the area.

Delighted to be awarded a Greenshoot Award by NIHR CRN. The role involves developing my clinical research knowledge and experience and involvement in NIHR CRN Portfolio Studies if possible. Sponsored to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Research at Newcastle University commencing September 2016.Research to involve a pilot of 'RightPath', a CYP musculoskeletal pathway from Primary into Secondary Care.

Initially a pilot scheme to assist with winter pressures affecting A&E with dual role to help educate patients who may be attending A&E inappropriately.Pilot successful and contract awarded. See Paediatric and Adult patients.

I have opted to develop my career as a 'doctor with portfolio'​, I continue to work as a GP in A&E, Clinical lead for CYP for Newcastle Gateshead CCG, I am about to commence primary care clinical research as a 'Greenshoots' researcher funded by NIHR Clinical Research Network, I am undertaking my Certificate in Medical Education at Newcastle University and teaching medical students at Newcastle University Medical School also.I have joined North East Sessional Group (NESG) and have started to provide GP Locum work since July 2015 in the North East.

Editor for 2 e learning modules on Fever in <5 year olds and the asthma/rhinitis. The modules are to be piloted as learning tools for GPs and Practice Nurses within several London CCGs, ahead of we hope a national launch.

Developed Primary Care Genetics Service and launched Primary Care Genetics advice service and website in conjunction with Northern Genetics Service, NUTH, Newcastle upon Tyne, available on NUTH website.Involved in organisation of two conferences on Primary Care Genetics and gave presentation at 2nd conference on Primary Care Genetics, Centre for Life, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Having qualified as GP, I worked as a GP locum at both my former GP Training Practice in Newcastle and at Park Parade Surgery, North Tyneside whilst obtaining the final part of my MRCGP qualification.
