Good managers can help people and companies thrive. This can be done by providing the right career opportunities for people - based on understanding their personal strengths and values, and an appreciation for what matters to them. If we can do this well - plus align people’s strengths and passions to company strategy and values - it’s a powerful formula for organisation and individual success. But we also need to have an eye to the future and support our people so that they will also survive, and thrive, in the jobs of the future.It's a great privilege to be in a manager role, and I'm super grateful to have the opportunity to do so completely remotely from a small country town. As a Learning Design Manager I'm lucky enough to work with a talented team of Learning Designers at Keypath Education. My designers work on post-graduate courses for various universities. For me this role is all about creating an environment where people can thrive. This I believe can be done by focusing on constant feedback, building on people's strengths, creating a community based on knowledge-sharing and a culture of trust and transparency.
