Working on policy and programs related to Iraq and Yemen in the Office of Assistance for Asia and the Near East at the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM).

Developed and oversaw advocacy, policy, and communications strategies related to health and humanitarian crises in MedGlobal's countries of operations, including Bangladesh, Colombia, the occupied Palestinian Territory, Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Led engagement with USG and UN stakeholders, produced policy papers and research-based reports, oversaw media engagement and communications activities, and led in coalition and partner engagement, including as the point person for coalitions such as InterAction and the Steering Committee of the Safeguarding Health in Conflict Coalition.

Researched and authored report supported by Oxfam America, entitled "Still Welcome: Syrian Refugees, US Resettlement Policies, and Community Response," on the experiences of Syrian refugees resettled in the US, including through qualitative data collection with Syrian refugees and policy analysis.

Conducted research on existing monitoring mechanisms to collect and measure incidents of violence against health care in conflict for ICRC’s Health Care in Danger project and provided a critical assessment report on strengths and weaknesses of existing data collection mechanisms.

Researched and authored report on the health and humanitarian risks of monsoon season for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, titled "In the Eye of the Cyclone: The Challenges of Providing Health Care for Rohingya Refugees During the Monsoon Season."

Developed humanitarian and human rights policy recommendations and advocacy activities alongside Syrian humanitarians and the White Helmets rescue workers. Led high-level direct advocacy with USG and UN stakeholders, researched and authored report 'Saving Lives Underground: A Case for Underground Hospitals' co-published by 13 Syrian medical NGOs and led advocacy efforts around increasing support for innovative health sector approaches, briefed the UN Security Council on systematic attacks on hospitals and protection through hospital fortification, and oversaw a fundraising campaign that raised $120,000 for an underground women & children’s hospital.

Developed and coordinated policies and advocacy related to the humanitarian and health crises in Syria and in regional refugee host countries. Worked closely with Syrian doctors health workers and humanitarian partners, regularly communicated policy priorities to USG and UN stakeholders, led in the research and drafting of major policy publications, represented SAMS among partner organizations and coalitions, and coordinated advocacy related events, including UN Security Council Arria-formula sessions and UN briefings, Congressional hearings and briefings, and a panel at the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit.

Generated concept and proposal for the Aegis Trust “International Youth Network” of anti-genocide activists, helped outline and implement activities in the U.S. and Rwanda for the “Generation for Change” component of the 20th Commemoration of the Rwandan Genocide, and worked to ensure the merger of STAND as the U.S. student-led division of Aegis Trust, which formally took place in August 2014.

Directed a national student organization focused on the prevention and mitigation of genocide and mass atrocities, with a focus on Sudan, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Myamar, Syria, and Central African Republic. Oversaw policy development and advocacy strategies, the planning and implementation of student programming, trainings and leadership retreats, partner management, and stakeholder engagement. Led and oversaw the transition of STAND from a program of United to End Genocide into an independent 501(c)4 organization between September and December 2012, and the incorporation of STAND as a division of the Aegis Trust between May 2013 and August 2014.
