About Keith Bell
Throughout all of my professional roles over the years there were aspects of the job that always grabbed my attention the most and those were the software applications. These were invaluable tools I used to maximize my success in my career. I saw each application like a map in a video game with different paths to take on an adventure filled with features, executables and data! I made sure I either sought out training on the applications from my managers or from the software company's customer support team as I wanted to understand all the possibilities with these tools. In fact, when working with Configio early in my career, that's when I found out about such roles like the Customer Support Specialist whom helped me learn their software!I love using analogies to think through things or help explain concepts. A person can discover that they actually do understand something new if they relate the new thing to another thing they already know. The universe has all sorts of analogies to explain things but I won't go on that tangent here! However, I know that sometimes putting things directly is the best course of action when speaking to a customer over the phone. I believe strong communication skills are essential to ANY role in life if you want success. This is most likely why I've always found myself in customer service roles!I am in my element when I can gradually peel back the layers of a project like an onion. Discovering new facets after peeling back the previous layer of the proverbial project onion. Connecting the dots of how this software application works, the data it has and what I can do with it allows me to maximize the output of each project. If I can assist customers in understanding all of this too then even better!A side note: I am also currently learning full stack development in my spare time. It helps me understand how software applications work, plus I feel that becoming a developer is the natural transition to future roles. By learning the pain points of the customers while in a Customer Support role I can take those lessons and help build the application's improvements as a Developer!
