• Responsible for a social care and public health portfolio of procurement categories, covering an annual spend of £300m• Accountable for an annual saving of £3.0m• Team responsibility for development and delivery of appropriate procurement strategies covering packaging of goods/services, route to market, commercial analysis, tendering, negotiation, contract and supplier management, working with service managers to define needs and challenge established approaches.• Managing a team of 10 Category Managers and Contracts Officers• Regular contact with senior managers on ensuring effective procurement arrangements are in place and fostering procurement collaboration with other public bodies through regular contact with senior officers in other public bodies.• Regular contact with senior staff in external organisations and suppliers
