Assisted economic assistance programs within the ND Department of Human Services (DHS) with the development and implementation of evaluation plans and performance improvement plans to assess and enhance program efficacy and outcomes. Designed and developed reports and reporting formats for a variety of audiences, including DHS program administrators, state legislators, residents of North Dakota, and federal partners, in an effort to evaluate human service programs and revise policy, if needed.

Assessed individual healthcare provider vaccination coverage levels and immunization practices. Performed statistical analysis to summarize annual coverage levels throughout North Dakota. Managed the CDC-developed CoCASA database. Provided feedback of results to healthcare providers, along with recommended strategies to improve coverage levels. Served as project manager for the sexually transmitted disease (STD) and viral hepatitis programs and authored and administered the STD and viral hepatitis grants, including work plan/objectives development and budget management. Directly supervised eight regional field epidemiologists, conducted annual performance evaluations, and identified staff and skill set development needs. Managed the CDC-developed STD surveillance database. Performed statistical analysis of program data. Participated in the development of a web-based STD surveillance and disease management system. Identified venues for the integration of viral hepatitis activities into existing public health programs and coordinated with colleagues to implement these activities. Served as Project Manager for two cardiovascular genetic epidemiology studies (HyperGEN and HyperGEN-Genetic Epidemiology of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy). Coordinated the conduct of three cardiovascular clinical trials, prepared all regulatory documentation, and developed and managed budgets. Coordinated human subject activities and communicated with the University of Minnesota Institutional Review Board for seven genetic epidemiology studies and three cardiovascular clinical trials.
