In my current role I secure philanthropic support to advance the goals and objectives of the FAMU FSU College of Engineering.

I was responsible for the external outreach functions of the Florida Engineering Experiment Station (FLEXStation) encompassing management of the FLEXStation Network of Innovation Stations which included developing and delivering applied research, educational, and workforce development programs to Florida’s entrepreneurs, industries, and citizens. I was responsible for managing strategic relationships between the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and industry. Primary responsibilities included actively promoting the multiple ways in which the College was poised to meet industry needs including assisting with talent acquisition, developing research opportunities, establishing executive education partnerships, and matching University assets with industry identified needs.

In this role I served as a conduit to companies seeking to engage with the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, especially as it pertained to the recruitment of our students or the development of opportunities for additional education of the workforce.

Served as a major gift fundraiser for Penn State focused on identifying individuals, corporations and foundations that have an interest in supporting students. I linked philanthropic intent with opportunities to ensure Penn State educated the next generation of active, civic minded and responsible leaders.

I facilitated partnerships between corporations and foundations and the university as a whole. I developed, wrote and prepared grant and gift proposals and worked collaboratively with University colleagues in the office of technology transfer, intellectual property and research.

I identified, cultivated, solicited and stewarded major gift donors to the University’s Division of Student Affairs and coordinated the activities of the Seminole Torchbearers, the advancement advisory board for the Division of Student Affairs. Coordinated and supervised the college’s on-site telemarketing program, including the supervision of twenty-five paid student callers and two student managers. Served as coordinator for the five and ten-year reunion class committees. Organized and motivated a core group of volunteers to plan and execute major alumni events. Planned receptions and other special events honoring young alumni and encouraging them to give to the College.
