One of the most surprising reasons for America’s crippling healthcare costs is the billion dollars’ worth of unused supplies or “medical surplus” that hospitals throw out every year. HANDLE Global is an asset recovery and alternative sourcing platform that allows healthcare systems to buy and sell high-quality excess medical inventory, supplies, and equipment at competitive rates via its redeployment applications. As a Capital Equipment Coordinator, I spent time working directly with hospitals and surgery centers around the world to recoup the most value out of their unused or excess equipment. Working directly with on site contacts- our team handled the equipment release and logistics through HANDLE's applications.

Working with the Spring Valley Golf professionals, our team created an experience for members at one of the most prestigious clubs in the Lexington area. I was given responsibilities ranging from taking tee times, closing the shop at night and everyday sales operations. This experience emphasized the importance of working as a team to provide unbeatable golf services to all members of the club.

As a member of the Timmy Global Health Executive Board, I was an avid leader in the budgeting process for a cause I deeply care about. TGH is a non-profit based out of Indianapolis, IN, expanding access to healthcare and empowering students and volunteers to tackle today’s most pressing global health challenges. To achieve this goal, Timmy sends medical service teams to support the work of international partner organizations and channels financial, medical, and human resources to community based health and development projects. This was a fantastic opportunity to work with other Bellarmine students to advocate for an important cause while at the same time improving leadership and financial skills along the way.

Louisville, Kentucky Area

Created a successfully run budget to manage the finances of Knights Nation, the Spirit and Athletic student organization designed to contribute to the betterment of the Athletic experience of the University and to the University community as a whole. This included allocations for multiple student engagement events throughout the year to promote the fan experience around campus. As I moved into the Vice President position I took more responsibility in managing a team as a whole to spread student spirit and involvement around the entire Bellarmine and Louisville community.

As an intern with Wheeler Financial Services in Lexington, KY, I assisted the team with management of payroll activities and investment activities for clients. I also created numerous excel sheets in preparation of audits, checks and balances, trial balances and general audits. This internship familiarized me with QuickBooks and Peachtree software in addition to all Microsoft programs.
