I've spent more than 30 years in the technology industry... everything from consulting services, custom software development, hardware installation and configuration and on and on. I started working with open source software in the days of RedHat 7.3 and begin contributing to various projects. In 2004 I started a VOIP service provider company with a close friend, and we chose Asterisk as our platform. 9 months later (and many, many patches contributed) I was offered a position at Digium to work on Asterisk full-time.After seven years of developing and managing the Asterisk project, and helping to design and build the Asterisk SCF project, I moved on to Bloomberg LP, where I worked with various teams to help produce and support Bloomberg's open software, used by its customers and partners to integrate with the Bloomberg Professional service. I created and managed the Open Source Program Office and helped elevate Bloomberg's role in the global open source community to one of respect and acknowledgement for its contributions.In 2022 I left Bloomberg to join Red Hat, where I was a principal program manager on the team which delivers Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the company's flagship product. My role covered all aspects of program management, coordinating work among many stakeholders to ensure that product releases were made on a timely basis and with the right content. In addition I participated in internal decision-making bodies which reviewed and approved changes to the RHEL development process, support processes, and more.In April of 2023 I was caught in Red Hat's global layoff (of 800 people), so I took some time off and then found a fabulous opportunity to join Fastly!
