I am currently a junior at UW-Madison, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. I am also pursuing a certificate in Disability Rights and Services. I am fascinated with the development of humans and how we function throughout life and how society shapes us. I chose this major to understand people better as I plan to get my masters in Strength and Conditioning and being able to be personable and work and understand people is crucial when working with people even in fitness.Since the summer of 2019 I have worked for a moving company by the name of Madison Smooth Moves while attending UW- Madison. This job has shown me hard work and perseverance. It has pushed me to my physical limits and I have been promoted to Shift Manager. This job title means that I am in control of talking to the customers ensuring when we will be arriving and talking to them about the process of the move throughout the day. I am in charge of training other movers and showing them what to do. This opportunity whilst in college has Shown me that I would like to own my own business or continue to help other individuals in different ways such as pursuing a strength and conditioning masters to further my helping of others in an athletic background.I have also been inspired to help others and stick with my given major because I have helped tutor children with disabilities through out the fall semester of 2020 and it really showed me how everyone deserves a chance to succeed and show their skills. Tutoring really inspired me to get my Disability Rights and Services certificate. These components have shown me what I would like to do no matter the field as long as it is helping others and providing the best help I can.
