Served in various capacities as school teacher for elementary and middle school aged students in high performing K-12 school district, including as 4th and 6th grade classroom teacher, Gifted and Talented teacher for grades K-6, and as district-wide 6th grade technology integration teacher. As a classroom teacher created an environment that was safe and conducive to learning for all students, with a focus on delivering individualized and differentiated instruction for students at all levels and learning abilities. Planned, prepared, and organized daily lessons and thematic units in mathematics, language arts, health, social studies, science, and technology and implemented a variety of assessment strategies. Improved creative and critical thinking skills for all students in grades K-6 through enrichment classes. Designed and implemented curriculum for all gifted & talented classes. Worked collaboratively with teaching faculty, administrators, paraprofessionals, parents, volunteers, and classified and non-classified students to ensure student engagement, enhance student development, strengthen diversity efforts and achieve solid educational outcomes. Served as key leader on District's Professional Development Committee.

Conducted research for Dean and Assistant Dean of College of Education on issues of teacher education, teacher study groups, and English language learners in the elementary classroom. Prepared presentation on research I performed examining teacher education programs in other states for State of New Jersey Commission evaluating teacher education programs. Created research questionnaire and survey to examine the impact of certain professional development practices on classroom teaching.
