I teach courses in the sub-field of comparative politics. Courses I have taught at Lewis and Clark include:-Introduction to Comparative Politics-Civil Society, Politics, and the State-European Politics-Russian Politics-Senior Capstone: Non-Democratic Regimes in the 21st Century-Transitions to Democracy and Authoritarianism

With the exeption of the semesters I taught various courses, I provided research assistance to Professors Marc Howard, Harley Balzer, Daniel Brumberg and Steven Heydemann on a variety of topics such as European citizenship policies, civil society in Russia and China, and Russian discourse on globalization and the West.

Designed syllabus and identified appropriate reading from the comparative politics literature for an upper-level undergraduate seminar of Georgetown government majors. The total enrollment in the course was eight students. Compiled course documents from books, journals, and newspapers to be placed on course website via BlackBoard. Prepared weekly lectures. Lead and encouraged weekly classroom discussion. Held weekly office hours for student consultations about topics covered in class, their grade, or their general academic/career goals. Mentored students as they wrote original research papers on civil society topics. Developed a detailed grading rubric for final research papers. Graded weekly written work, presentations, and final research paper.
