A quick progression ensued to the Public Protection Unit; managing high risk victims of domestic violence, honour based violence, female genital mutilation and child sexual exploitation. Daily tasks included safeguarding, risk assessment, problem solving, high levels of multi-agency working/strategy development and crime management, preparation of reports and case files. Became an accredited Detective Constable working within serious and complex crime, including sexual and gang violence. Managed complex caseloads, video interviews of vulnerable victims/witnesses, suspect interviews, preparation of court files, presentation of evidence at Court and briefing of specialist departments. Daily management of crime scenes and staff within investigations. Further duties included communication, report writing and information sharing the local Coroner. Utilised as a Family Liaison Officer into investigations involving loss of life; guided and tutored trainee detectives to the required standard, reviewing and authorising required portfolios/documentation. Transferred into the Investigator Development Unit, responsible for the development of Civilian Investigators within the Public Protection Unit. Recently promoted to Detective Sergeant within the Crime Support Hub and completed the Specialist Fraud Investigators Course with the City of London Police. Currently responsible for the ViSOR team. Business Change -South Yorkshire Police - Developed and embedded internal online application in order to comply with the Bail Act 2017. Reviewed and approved training package accompanying application. Delivered cascade training locally within the Force Crime Unit.
