As Rookie’s managing editor, I mentored many of a generation’s most talented writers, artists, and editors to make stories loved by teens and adults alike. I directed a New York–based editorial staff and dozens of contributors to publish personal essays, photo essays, service stories, comics, cultural criticism, videos, and more content, seven days a week. I also curated social media for 150,000-plus followers on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.Prior to that, I was one of Rookie’s story editors. Work of mine appears in the Rookie Yearbook series, published by Penguin Teen.

As a senior editor at Chicago, I oversaw the magazine’s style, fashion, and travel verticals, concept-ing and editing print and digital content for curious Chicagoans. I collaborated closely with designers and art directors on visual storytelling. I also contributed to tentpole features including “Best of Chicago,” “Chicagoans of the Year,” “The Power 100,” and more. Managing the magazine's internship program for student journalists was one of my favorite parts of the job.Earlier at Chicago, I was an associate editor assigning and editing the magazine’s style and events content. I edited the weekly events newsletter, Chicago Guide, as well as the shopping newsletter, Sales Check. I joined the magazine as assistant dining editor, covering food culture and contributing to the popular dining-out newsletter, Dish.
