In 1994, I secured a license to operate a child-placing and adoption agency, and which has thrived, accommodating up to 1,100 children across Texas. The primary aim was to establish a "win-win" situation for all parties involved. We ensured every foster child received emotional stability, expert caregivers, and adhered to state regulations. Our specialty has been treatment intervention for hard-to-place teenage males. We have remained steadfast in upholding this compassionate philosophy throughout the years, forming the foundation of Therapeutic Family Life's approach.Previous experience prior to opening Therapeutic Family Life includes:A. Counseling consultant for evaluation and treatment services in Behavioral Training Research, a residential facility for severely emotionally and mentally disabled children and adolescents; B. Instructor with Practice Management Associates for chiropractic practitioners, conducting seminar presentations on the topic of “Pain Control and Stress Management”; C. Program Director with the Local Mental Health Authority of Southeast Texas including the establishment and oversight of:1) Crisis Intervention Program, 2) Adult Outpatient Centers,3) Adolescent Residential Treatment Center, 4) Extended Living Facility for patients discharged from Rusk State Hospital, 5) Day Treatment for patients discharged from Rusk State Hospital. 6) Drug Abuse Prevention Program, 7) Mental Evaluation and Assessment Services for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department;D. Clinical Director for both Arrow Project and Caring Family Network child-placing agencies.
