I started and led Solvera’s design services, building and guiding the design team, defining the service offerings, standardizing delivery approach and processes, determining marketing messaging, and enabling the sales team.I also provided consulting services for Solvera’s clients in design and digital strategy. The details varied by client but typically involved leading a design team and doing hands-on work across strategic planning, user experience, interaction design, user interface design, and information architecture.

After starting at zu as a designer, then leading the design team, I later founded the strategy department, and then lead strategy and design.In this role, I gave creative direction to the design team, and led design for websites, mobile sites, mobile apps, and tablet apps. The client list ranged from Intel and FedEx to Tim Hortons and the Calgary Stampeders.I also provided strategic direction on projects for clients such as Cold Stone Creamery and ING. As zu's lead strategist, I consulted with and provided digital and organization recommendations to clients such as SaskTel, the Government of Saskatchewan, and the University of Saskatchewan.As an advocate for users, I spearheaded zu’s user experience and user interface design, usability testing and user research, information architecture, and content strategy, and spoke at events representing digital strategy and design.

I spent a few months subcontracted from zu to Critical Mass, to help kick off a project for Humana. Working both remotely and on-site, I led information architecture projects, organizing and hierarchizing content from multiple sites into a clear user experience. Using inputs from user research, business analysis, search engine optimization, marketing, and content strategy, the team created a new sitemap and wireframed a consistent experience for this very large site.
