I provide leadership for implementation of 2022 House Bill 4098, which established the Oregon Opioid Settlement Prevention, Treatment and Recovery (OSPTR) Fund and Board.

Responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and oversight of the statewide Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention Program and the Senior Falls Prevention Program within the Injury and Violence Prevention Section of the Oregon Public Health Division. Serve as primary liaison between state-level and local stakeholders and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ). Provide best-practice recommendations to stakeholders, including health systems and health plans, local governments, professional organizations, prescribers, law enforcement, first responders, community sites, senior housing facilities and advocacy groups. Establish and maintain community partnerships. Improve public awareness of preventable public health issues. Give presentations to the public, write reports and grant proposals, develop contracts, policy recommendations, facilitate advisory boards, coordinate data collection, training, outreach, technical assistance, and work plan implementation.

Managed hospital quality improvement projects, including Regional Fall Prevention Program. Managed all quality assurance and quality control efforts for the Providence Center for Outcomes Research and Education (CORE). Responsible for project planning, protocol development, and project evaluation for large-scale projects and research studies, including The Oregon Health Study and The Social Determinants of Health Study. Trained and monitored the work of 50 research interviewers. Documented and standardized research procedures across projects, developed and maintained Institutional Review Board submissions and records, edited field methods report, scientific manuscripts and grant proposals, assisted with analysis of data and dissemination of results. Pre-tested survey instruments, including recruitment of study participants and facilitation of focus groups.

Responsible for grants administration and submission, preparing project reports, and maintaining related records for the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Developed project budgets and Institutional Review Board submissions. Conducted literature reviews, assisted with grant proposal writing and editing scientific manuscripts. Coordinated the MD/PhD program; responsible for course/grade tracking and assisting students with thesis manuscripts.
