I spent my first seat in the real estate team where I acted for residential developers, investors, institutional landlords and tenants on a wide variety of property matters including new leases, lease assignments, property transfers, and land acquisitions.The second seat of my training contract was spent in the Corporate Tax and Incentives teams. During this time I advised a number of clients on a full range of corporate tax issues including corporation tax, VAT and SDLT. I was also responsible for managing and drafting share incentive schemes; with a particular emphasis on supporting US clients as they began operating in the UK market.I spent the third seat of my training contract with the Commercial and Regulatory Disputes team. I was involved in a number of disputes of varying complexity and size, with a focus on public procurement matters.The final seat of my training contract was spent in the corporate team. I was able to gain experience in a wide range of corporate transactions, focusing on private equity and venture capital work. I took an interest in corporate disputes and how to draft documents to avoid them.
