While at Mintel, I worked in a variety of roles, both frontend and backend related. The majority of my work was done with a React.JS frontend with Django-Python middleware for routing and querying external data sources such as Elasticsearch and AWS DBs.My average, day to day work often consisted of creating and extending React components, adding or modifying RESTful API calls within Python, and thoroughly testing new code to ensure it works as intended. In addition, I was occasionally involved with researching new technologies for the company or performing site and codebase audits for purposes such as reducing technical debt or ensuring cross-browser functionality.

Originally starting as a school project to create a startup, ChartAir caught the eye of an accelerator in Chicago's 1871 and was accepted to their 2017 cohort and received a $20000 investment. During my time at ChartAir, I was in charge of writing the database software. This involved creating a consistent format for data input, creating and updating the database schema, and ensuring that the system was versatile and efficient. I built our technology from scratch using ruby on rails with an SQL backend. In addition to working on the tech stack, I also worked on our budgeting and finance quite frequently.

I performed research on the Dragonfly supercomputer architecture. Specifically, I worked in a two-person team focused on optimization of task mapping to increase throughput of the system. The result of my work was a performance increase of up to 50% compared to previous mappings when run on a Dragonfly simulator.
