Investigation of T cell homeostasis and IL-2 immunology to identify immune-base therapy for autoimmune and infectious diseases at molecular level. --- Identified that IL4 mediates suppression of T cell IL2 production by inducing Blimp1 expression in activated T cells. Studied how blimp1, which is known to be an important transcript repressor in B cell development, worked in T cell homeostasis and self-tolerance. Generated a blimp1-overexpression transgenic mouse model. --- Identified the important role of T cell receptor signaling in IL3 production by T cells.--- Investigated impacts of IL3 produced by T cells on basophil production and survival in Th2-related parasite infection.

- Investigation of Organogenesis of the pancreatic anlagen allografted in rats; to study pancreatic anlagen transplantation as a potential new therapy for Diabetes. - Participated in several cooperative projects with other fellows, investigating:- The function of IL-5 on the expression of TGF-β in chronic rejection- Co-expression of double human complement regulatory proteins (CD59 and MCP) in the transgenic mice providing more protection for heart xenografts in a mouse-to-human ex vivo perfusion model- The role of sHLA-G1 in xenotransplantation.- Set up hyperacute rejection model on rat heart allotransplantation.
