Public Affairs Operations/Plans Noncommissioned Officer
CurrentResponsible for public information planning and support for the 1st Cavalry Division consisting of more than 20,000 soldiers. Produces public information guidance, annexes, themes and messages, for planned events. Synchronizes public information operations with other organizations and across staff members. Entrusted with the government purchase card for the section, which allows the team to acquire equipment in a timely manner while avoiding fraud, waste and abuse.
Public Affairs Operations Noncommissioned Officer
Served as a public information noncommissioned officer for the 10th Sustainment Brigade, which was later renamed the 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade, including it's approximately 3,000 soldiers. Supervised and administered the brigade's command information programs using print, and limited video assets. Advised the brigade commander on all mater related to potential public response to certain courses of action. Wrote and published stories and photos that were picked up by local, national and international media. A photo was also featured on the cover of the Army Sustainment Magazine. Supervised 3 NCOs and managed 12 unit public information representatives. Selected over 8 peers to serve as platoon sergeant, which consisted of a unit of 20 officers, 37 NCOs, and 14 junior enlisted soldiers. Served as the acting senior enlisted in the company in the absence of the first sergeant. Planned, administered and taught soldiers basic video techniques, which saved the division more than $1,100 for every ceremony held when soldiers returned from a deployment.
Operations Nco/Platoon Seargent
Responsible for the training, safety, counseling, and professional development of 16 soldiers. Supervised the supply, communication, maintenance, and chemical sections. Maintained the readiness of 7 vehicles and associated equipment, which was worth more than $3 million. Created new standard operating procedures, which made the unit administratively more efficient. Trained a soldier to improve his physical fitness after failing an Army Physical Fitness Test. The section maintained the highest physical fitness average in the company.
Operations Nco/Warehouse Manager
Scheduled, coordinated, and supervised the use of training equipment, worth more than $27 million. Successfully supported of unit requirements for 16 training events throughout 4 countries. More than 4,100 U.S. Soldiers and 300 foreign troops had successful events due to the professionalism and efficiency that was provided. Implemented procedures, which resulted in the section passing an Organizational Inspection Program for the first time ever.
