M. E. Clifford Email and Phone Number
I have been an educator in Virginia's public schools since 1981, teaching students with specific learning disabilities. I hold an M.Ed. degree from the University of Virginia and a BA in Education and Studio Art from the University of Mary Washington. In addition to my teaching career, I have been a freelance writer since May 2022, supporting literacy and creativity development in children. In 2023, I became an author of decodable books for Ello, a digital publishing platform that aims to inspire and support children in learning to read. My approach to teaching reading is systematic, structured, multi-sensory, and tiered, to meet the individual needs of my students. My experience in education has allowed me to create engaging and accessible stories that help support literacy skills and creativity development in young learners. My core competencies include curriculum design, instructional strategies, assessment, and differentiation, with the aim of inspiring and empowering students with diverse needs and abilities to achieve their academic and artistic potential.
