Actively involved in community organizations active in disaster to build the capacity of disaster-vulnerable communities through all phases of the disaster cycle, including serving as an officer on the NYVOAD Board of Directors. Completed several deployments to large-scale disasters and mass casualty incidents. Planned for and operated Family Assistance Centers. Staffed Emergency Operation Centers and served as a public information officer. Served as a Caseworker on the Integrated Care and Condolence Team for incidents with fatalities. Certified Red Cross Disaster Instructor training staff in mass care, Concept of Operations, disaster response, community outreach and facilitative leadership. Recruited, engaged, and empowered local volunteer leaders to help achieve the Red Cross mission in four counties. Participated in local, regional, and divisional training exercises. Served on the NY State contingency planning team for the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction annually, with over 20,000 participants in Cooperstown, NY.Contributed to a 1.2-million-dollar fundraising goal by developing inspiring donor-facing materials, making presentations, writing grants, cultivating new funding sources, stewarding local United Way relationships, and engaging major donors. Served on the American Red Cross National Young Professionals Council, which assisted the redevelopment and promotion ReadyRating.com, a business continuity platform. Partnered with the Board of Directors to improve service delivery and community relations. Cultivated, manages and stewards partner relationships to help create and maintain connectivity within the community including elected officials, government partners and other key community stakeholders. Acted as spokesperson during steady state and disasters. Produced content and media pitches.The American Red Cross alleviates suffering through the power of volunteers, and the generosity of donors.
