Considered highly knowledgeable in the field of aquatics, with over fifteen years experience in the industry, I have developed skills that allow me to work effectively with different types of people and in all sorts of situations. As the Aquatics Supervisor with the Town of Canmore, I have honed my ability to work independently, balance many priorities, communicate effectively, and build relationships with members of the public, community groups, staff, and colleagues. Recognized for my ability to take action, particularly under challenging circumstances including navigating provincial regulations associated with the pandemic, subsequent staffing shortages, and completing an air quality investigation. I manage this complex portfolio strategically, diligently, and with the community interests at the forefront of all decision-making. Before making the move to Canmore, while working with the Town of Collingwood, I had the opportunity to be the project lead for key initiatives such as sailing school acquisition, playground re-development, procurement process implementation, and administration of the community grant program. This experience has provided me with a solid background in how to apply my skills to various applications. The responsibility of ensuring others’ safety, and of monitoring the conditions of the facility, has shaped the way I think: lifeguards develop analytical and situational skills that are highly transferable within recreation and beyond.
