Member of an overlay team that sits at the nexus between product development, account teams, and customers.We offer deep technical experience to consult with customers on their observability obstacles and requirements. Depending on the needs exposed we provide point solutions, or refine requirements for features to be developed in product.We also create educational materials for account teams and public consumption through various mediums such as recorded videos, public presentations, written documentation, interactive tools such as NerdApps, and instructional courses. Our ultimate goal is to make it easier for customers to take full advantage of the New Relic observability platform to improve their ability to understand the health of their business, respond to issues, and reduce risk.

Worked to improve observability across an estate that spans GCP, AWS, and physical datacenters. Built an in house application to correlate insights from a collection of monitoring and event platforms including New Relic, SolarWinds, Splunk, Service Now, IBM Netcool, and MIR3 Onsolve.

I assisted our clients in deploying, upgrading, or customizing their SolarWinds monitoring tools. With my experience working with operations teams I helped them to see which aspects of their infrastructure were most useful to focus on and how to best bring the important data to the correct people. I emphasized techniques for streamlining workflows and reducing admin overhead through well defined processes, various forms of automation, and effective user and admin training. I was recognized within the user community as an innovator expanding the limits of what people thought we could accomplish with the software.Served as our senior engineer assigned to very large environments or clients with thorny challenges. I developed monitoring platforms used by major ISP's, software vendors, industrial suppliers, hospital chains, and NERC CIP regulated energy companies.Scripted dozens of flexible tools that I would use from client to client to streamline the repetitive elements of consultancy. This freed up time for me to dig deeper with the clients to refine their use cases and provide a more tailored environment, while training them on more advanced capabilities. Frequently led our internal training to help bring the rest of my team up to a higher levels of technical sophistication.Presented at several SolarWinds User Groups and conferences.Developed custom dashboard tooling and host a Github page for users to easily share and swap dashboards and visualizations.

Provided on site support for a wide variety of technical issues between two Las Vegas casino/hotel properties and a corporate office site. I supported the systems used in all casino floor, hotel, entertainment, and food & beverage operations. I created the majority of the documentation of the existing infrastructure as well as administrated the Solarwinds monitoring system of our infrastructure. Worked within our VMware environment, Cisco network, EMC and Compellent shared storage systems, Micros POS and retail infrastructure, and all of the related technologies used in our organization.

Processed incoming orders for telecom services at trade shows in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Services included copper ethernet internet connections, point to point links over fiber optics, wireless connectivity, telephony, and cable television. Communicated extensively with clients to determine their exact technical requirements and arrange for the appropriate services during events. Provided front line technical support during events and assisted with the set up and configuration of the connections. While I worked here I created the majority of our internal documentation and training materials.Served as a coordinator for the trade show managers themselves. During this time I furthered my skills in networking and obtained my wireless networking certification and spent a significant amount of time working with the engineering team.
