About Marcus Collins

I am currently a Senior Reactor Operator at Beaver Valley Power Station. Prior to entering the licensing program I was a non licensed operator for nearly 4 years. I previously served in the Navy as an Engineering Laboratory Technician.During my time in the Navy, I was directly involved in many complex evolutions and maintenance procedures, including an 18 month overhaul on two reactors. This duty required meticulous adherence to procedures, and required a thorough understanding of reactor, electrical, and mechanical theory involved in the operation of nuclear reactors, steam plants, and auxiliary systems. I have also gained extensive experience in preventive maintenance of propulsion plant mechanical systems, support systems, turbines, pumps, and valves.Prior to the Navy, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Kent State University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.96. Some of my course studies included: C++, Java, Visual Basic, Technical Writing, Computer Forensics, and all aspects of networking from setup and configuration to LAN security and firewalls.

Listed skills include Military, Navy, Security Clearance, Nuclear, and 40 others.
