About Marcus Collins
I am currently a Senior Reactor Operator at Beaver Valley Power Station. Prior to entering the licensing program I was a non licensed operator for nearly 4 years. I previously served in the Navy as an Engineering Laboratory Technician.During my time in the Navy, I was directly involved in many complex evolutions and maintenance procedures, including an 18 month overhaul on two reactors. This duty required meticulous adherence to procedures, and required a thorough understanding of reactor, electrical, and mechanical theory involved in the operation of nuclear reactors, steam plants, and auxiliary systems. I have also gained extensive experience in preventive maintenance of propulsion plant mechanical systems, support systems, turbines, pumps, and valves.Prior to the Navy, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Kent State University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.96. Some of my course studies included: C++, Java, Visual Basic, Technical Writing, Computer Forensics, and all aspects of networking from setup and configuration to LAN security and firewalls.

Engineering Laboratory Technician
