I've always enjoyed solving puzzles. Not just jigsaw puzzles (which did find its way into my life during quarantine) I’m particularly keen to word scrambles. The jumbled letters that prove to be a word once solved really became my knack over the years. I chalk it up to my love of language and desire to solve problems. I especially love the challenge of those that seem impossible at first glance and once you think through it, identify pieces that need to be rearranged, accept you may fail at first, you might just find the solution.Working at a SaaS-based healthcare company for the last six years, my time is spent communicating with hospital systems across North America in effort to optimize their patient experience and employee engagement through a digital rounding software. Providing hospitals with mechanisms to boost patient and staff satisfaction while extracting feedback about the product is a brain buster in itself. That’s why I get excited about the artful challenge of explaining to healthcare professionals how the technology acts as the vehicle to drive communication and change within their organization.In a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment I’ve adapted to change quickly having been hired after a recent acquisition and during efforts to continue scaling the company to a publicly traded consulting firm. I honed new skills in technology that I could marry with an acquired skillset of teaching and interpreting a foreign language. I began at the company as the communication gateway for all clients as a customer support team member and quickly worked my way up to managing the largest client list and expanding the customer success support footprint from regional to national as an analyst, and national to global as an associate. With a trained background in teaching English as a second language to individuals ranging from 5 to 50 years of age, there are many parallels in teaching a foreign subject matter across industries. Whether it is explaining to a hospital executive how they can support their nursing team to adapt to a new technologic workflow to collect and measure data or explaining the syntax of a commonly used phrase in English, boiled down the processes are similar. Understanding a desired outcome and piecing together the appropriate actions and steps in order to achieve those milestones is rewarding. Sometimes the pieces don’t fit together correctly on the first try but if you are open to rearranging, or even setting some aside for when the correct opening appears, you may help others find the solution they’ve been looking for.
