What shall I share about my professional me?About as long as I remember, I have been intrigued by the unique beauty of the human mind. Both my fascination and my belief in science led me to a degree in psychology. Throughout my (by now) years-long career as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, I have often witnessed how our psyche is not a stand-alone entity. We are by nature social. Aristotle already spread the word: we are being shaped by our environment and in its turn we also shape our environment and vice versa. Our mind is what makes us exclusively human.Therefore, when I reflect about mental health, it is not mere the absence of a mental health condition I reflect about. Mental health is integral and imperative to our well-being. It enables us to realize our full potential, show resilience amidst adversity, be productive across the various settings of daily life, form meaningful relationships and partake in, contribute to, and receive from the communities we live and work in.It is the engine to our success in the world.Life is better with a buddy, says Simon Sinek. That is how he refers to ‘coaching’.And that is exactly where I come in as a coach.People are capable of anything they put themselves to. If it weren't that their unconscious thinking patterns, their comfortable routines and habits come in the way. Throughout a coaching process, we will tamper with those limiting patterns; elicit new ideas and create a path for you to the next level of success.Hopefully this story gives you an impression of who I am and how I work.
