My current role comprises of many different duties and responsibilities.My main duties and responsibilities at the moment is to train pilots and cabin crew, both new entrants and experienced aircrew, in safety and emergency procedures. The different subjects that come under that umbrella include:• Crew Resource Management – human factors in aviation.• Security – regulation’s, procedures.• First Aid – Aviation Medicine and procedures.• Manual Handling – safe lifting techniques.• Dangerous Goods – Safe transport of hazardous substances.• Evacuation Techniques – Emergency procedures.• Fire Fighting – Techniques and procedures.• Aircraft types – Different aircraft systems.• Emergency Equipment – various types.• Other emergency situations.In order for me to be to deliver training to aircrew in these various subjects I attended a train the trainer course back in 2006 and received specialized training in the subjects mentioned above also in 2006.Other duties I regularly carry out would be to draft, design and update all the materials used in the various different training courses, materials I would regularly update include PowerPoint Presentations, Lesson Plans, Handouts, Instructor Notes etc. and ensure all courses and materials used comply with all regulatory requirements.I also carry out proficiency checks on other instructors and am regularly involved in instructor and cabin crew recruitment. Another responsibility within my current role is to deliver train the trainer courses to crew to certify them to deliver training courses to pilots and cabin crew. This is a six-week course and would include:• Methods of Instruction (train the trainer).• Crew Resource Management.• Security.• Dangerous Goods.• Evacuation Procedures.• First Aid.• Detailed review of evacuation procedures.• Administration.
