Secured wage increase for the teachers in the JPS System (23%) and the CPS System (33%) in the 2003-04 agreement. Expand the string instruction program from 300 and students 525 students. Negotiated increase in the administrative fees paid to the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra for its educational programs from $26,500 to over $70,000, covering administrative costs. Worked closely with the Director of Development on education grants, including those from the Mississippi Arts Commission, Gertrude C. Ford Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. Expanded the number of performances of MSO's Chamber Ensembles working with presenters and arts commissions, locally and statewide, increasing the earned income. Lobbied the Mississippi State Legislature to increase the Mississippi Department of Education Artist-in-Residence grant from $38,500 to $50,000, allowing MSO to send its chamber ensembles to the participating schools.
