To lead and manage the Climate Information for International Development (CIID) team. Specifically:• Ensuring timely delivery of project work on time in full to the customer requirement.• Leading recruitment into team, budgeting, resourcing and ensuring longer term funding that aligns with business & science requirements and resources.• Acting as a focal point for Business, contributing towards proposals as required.• Providing line management: motivate and develop the members of the team, and seek opportunities to improve working practices where possible (eg through adoption of more Agile processes).Act as project lead for the Met Office involvement with the Drought and Flood Mitigation Service project in Uganda and the Dengue Fever project across Vietnam and SE Asia. Specific responsibilities include, working with other consortium members to define Met Office workpackages, undertaking user engagement activities in country and working with other consortium members to develop prototypes for decision makers.Act as project lead for the team’s involvement with CSSP and EPSRC projects in China. Specific responsibilities include defining and agreeing workpackages and engagement with stakeholders both within and outwith the Met Office.
