Over the course of 34 years in transportation sales and management, there have been a number of items that I will forever be proud of. It all began, when Loyola's Placement office told me that Averitt Express was doing interviews for local sales in Chicago. I learned that if a candidate made it to the second interview, it would be with the Officer Group including the Owner in Cookeville, TN. If any of the Officers said, "no", there was no more discussion. Needless to say I and another candidate were chosen and that marked the beginning. Another really proud milestone, came later in my career when I was with my boss, the VP of Sales at TST Overland. At that time TST Overland only had National Account Managers in Canada. I began a campaign with him that day that TST Overland needed a "National Account Manager in the U.S. It took a few conversations, but I was chosen as the first (and only at the time) National Account Manager in the U.S. On the subject of TST Overland, I was promoted three times and made Presidents Club nine times. In this current chapter, I was given the opportunity to sell ecommerce (parcel) transport services for the well positioned ecommerce specialty carrier, FirstMile. Thanks for reading!
