About Mark Strother

I am an archaeologist in the environmental consulting industry with expertise in project management, technical reporting, proposal writing, archaeological surveys, testing, data/heritage recovery, and artifact analysis. I have specialized knowledge in the southern California coastal and desert regions, as well as the Sierra Nevada region. My research interests include marine archaeology/anthropology, and human-environmental relationships. I have managed and participated in extensive work in southern California since 2016, leading and/or helping to lead several Phase I surveys, Phase II testing projects, and Phase III data recovery projects in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the California Environmental Quality Act as they pertain to cultural resources. During my career with Rincon I have served as project manager and field director for projects within San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Kern, Tulare, and Imperial Counties.
