Commercial Manager providing the services of ECC Project Manager under the NEC form of contract on a number of plant and structure contracts at Dungeness, Kent (Options A,C,E and PSC) ranging in value from £1m to £20m and a complex Aqueous Discharge Abatement Plant (ADAP) project associated with Fuel Element Debris (FED) Dissolution at Bradwell, Essex (Option C) approx. value £20 million. The successful completion of the ADAP plant was a key enabler for the Client (Magnox Ltd) to achieve its accelerated programme for the Site's entry into Care and Maintenance and reducing the amount of radioactive waste sent off-site.EC Harris (part of the Arcadis Group) were appointed by Magnox Ltd on a managed service agreement as part of the team decommissioning Dungeness A and Bradwell Nuclear Power stations to provide pre and post contract commercial management services. General management duties included:- Tendering & Procurement of subcontract packages up to £80 million;- Control, management and agreement of subcontract accounts including, payments, variations, claims and financial control through to agreement at final account stage;- Cost monitoring and end cost forecasting including monthly Project Management Reports.Civil engineering projects across a number of sectors such as rail and water (clean and sewage) which included experience in tunnelling, mechanical/electrical works, process engineering, MCCs, SCADA, concrete works, steel frame clad buildings and green roofs etc. Projects worked on during my time as a direct employee of Costain included:- Cross Rail - C610 Systemwide Main Works - NEC Option C - approx. value £300 million- Cross Rail - C644 Traction Power and C650 Power Supply System contracts (part of above)- Network Rail - London Bridge Station Redevelopment - ICC Target Cost Contract with NR12 bespoke amendments – approx. value £730m- Southern Water - Environmental Improvement Scheme to bring Cleaner Seas to Sussex - Brighton & Hove - IChemE Target Cost - approx. value £300 million- Thames Water - AMP4 Framework - IChemE Target Cost, various clean and wastewater treatment works projects
