Oversee the definition, planning, initiation and delivery of multiple ICT infrastructure and applications projects running cross functional project teams consisting of Departmental and Vendor resources.Very successfully led a long list of projects such as the implementation of Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) across the Department’s ICT environment, application changes to support the redesign of the department’s Cost Recovery Framework, upgrade of the Department’s records management system from RM8 to CM9, implementation of mobile video conferencing for Departmental inspectors as part of the Department’s COVID measures, components of the Next Export Documentation System (NEXDOC) and ICT fit out projects for large scale, high profile Property projects, including the Department’s new Sydney Regional Office, the Perth T3 terminal to support the Department’s international operations for the introduction of a new direct Qantas route between Perth & London, the Department’s additional Canberra Office in Braddon, to support the Department’s international operations at the new Canberra International Airport, new Newcastle International Airport, new Avalon International Airport, new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal, refurbished Gold Coast International Airport and refurbished Adelaide International Airport, refurbishment of the Department’s Brisbane Regional Office and relocation of the Department’s Sydney International Airport office. Current projects include EDRMS Integration, Installation of CM9 in the Protected Enclave, Plant Export Management System v4 (PEMS4), Establishment of the office of the Inspector General Water Compliance (IGWC) and Director of National Parks Asset Management System.

Responsible for definition, planning, initiation and delivery of multiple ICT infrastructure projects using virtual project teams with members located in Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney.

In cooperation with the executive leadership from the Cambodian Department of Immigration (DOI), lead a team to investigate and scope the extent of DOI’s requirements and vision in relation to establishing an Alert List System for Passenger Movement.

Responsible for a program of work involving complex delivery of significant business change via multiple business projects, a large package of application enhancement projects, several projects to deliver new infrastructure, a project to deploy the BMS to new PNG Immigration and Citizenship Service (PNGICS) Diplomatic Mission locations in America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific, and a project to deliver an offline BMS suitable for remote PNG Border Posts and cruise ships. Also responsible for delivery of Business As Usual (BAU) support for a very broad scope of functions across the whole of the PNGICS visa processing and border security operations. This involved two sites in PNG (PNGICS Headquarters and Jacksons International Airport), three diplomatic mission sites in Australia (Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney) and three overseas diplomatic mission sites (Manila, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur), with applications support from a vendor in Melbourne (Merit Technology Pty Ltd) and coordination of infrastructure support between the PNGICS ICT section, vendors and the Program team. The PNG BMS Program is a very high profile and significant aspect of the bilateral relationship between the Australian and PNG governments and has had active involvement from the former PNG acting Prime Minister and the Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.

Responsible for the ICT delivery of the complex Security Referral Service (SRS) project. The SRS system is a key component of the Government’s Border Security Initiative, which involves: New levels of electronic connectivity between DIAC and the external agencies; Advanced analysis of personal details for all travellers to Australia; Higher quality data matching; and more efficient systems with enhanced auditing capacity to ensure that security requirements do not slow down processes affecting legitimate business and tourism.
