I am a high school teacher and coach who strives to develop young people of excellence through a holistic approach to character development, specifically helping them work toward excellence in their academic, athletic, and social lives. Through Challenge and Inquiry based learning, I work to create a classroom environment that allows students to innovate, problem solve, and own their learning beyond the classroom. I co-authored the first Challenge based learning curriculum in our district and was the first to utilize it the classroom.I work diligently to be a leader of 21st century learning in our school system and stay at the forefront of educational technology as it offers students crucial advantages, especially with its ability to differentiate and engage through collaboration.I am the chair of the PR committee for our school's 1:1 technology initiative and the designer and administrator of our 1:1 website http://bremen1to1.weebly.com/.As a coach, I believe that athletics can both reveal and build a young person's character. I firmly believe that high school athletics teach time management, teamwork, perseverance, and commitment. My athletic teams focus on the power of mental training and visualization, purposeful technique development, tactical awareness, nutrition for sport performance, strength and speed development, injury prevention through cardio and weight training, and the power of a team to create an unstoppable idea.
