Bennett Custom Audio is a custom guitar effects pedal manufacturer, serving musicians in the St. John’s area and beyond. Each unit is designed and hand-built in Newfoundland in collaboration with other local businesses, where possible. I am the sole proprietor of the business, and am responsible for a number of tasks, ranging from technical design to business development and administration.Technical tasks include many areas of electronics engineering, including analog electronics design & testing, embedded software design in C/C++, mixed system PCB design, digital signal processing development, and mechanical manufacturing.Business tasks have included accounting, procurement, market validation, and marketing using social media.While I thoroughly enjoy the technical work involved in this business, the driving force of BCA has and always will be the wonderful relationships I've built with customers, and the satisfaction of meeting a customer’s needs. Each pedal is hand-assembled, tested, and signed, and each design proudly showcases my Newfoundland Heritage.

As a member of a small design team, i played a pivotal role in the design of a novel musical instrument that sonifies the players' vital signs. Intended for use in musical composition and as an aid in mindfulness practice, This work was featured on CBC Radio One in December of 2017, and in a CBC News Article in the same time frame.
