Foundation relations and fundraising consultant for the Protecting Immigrant Families coalition, a project of the National Immigration Law Center. Raised over $10 million in foundation support for the coalition's work to protect and empower immigrant families.

Clients included: • Stavros Niarchos Foundation: Led strategic assessment, planning and roadmap development for international foundation’s planned $25 million gift to Greek-American high school. Built persuasive case for bold changes in program and marketing to achieve competitive advantage and sustainability. • Foundation for Defense of Democracies: Developed and shaped cogent, intelligible and strategic digital and print content for foreign policy think tank. • Google+: Produced content explaining to businesses globally how to use Google+ to fuel growth. • Chabad House-Bowery at NYU: Built strategic plan that steered organization to focus growth on 3-pronged strategy resonant with core Jewish values. • Prizmah (formerly RAVSAK): Reshaped strategic plan for network of Conservative and Reform Jewish private day schools. • National Executive Service Corps: Redesigned and implemented communications strategy to provide valuable, usable content for clients. Open rate for e-newsletter improved substantially. Loyola School: Laid groundwork for strategic plan and roadmap to focus school’s resources on best methods to attract new students. Led global expansion into Latin America, Europe, Russia and Africa of high-impact book and audience engagement program that connects children with Jewish culture and values through family reading time. • Established overall expansion strategy incorporating market assessment, publishing and distribution partner recruitment, program models, financial sustainability and stakeholder engagement.• Expanded PJ Library to the United Kingdom, hiring and training staff, and helping to raise $1 million+; program launched with all available subscriptions filled. • Launched Spanish-language version of PJ Library in 3 cities in Mexico; spearheaded planning and laid groundwork for PJ Library en Español throughout Latin America.• Galvanized production of the first Jewish children’s books published in Spanish for decades, encompassing 108 different titles over the first 3 years. • Developed strategic plans for building native-language programs in Russia, France, Brazil and South Africa.• Collaborated to create custom websites for each program, and generated content for PJ Library’s website.

Monetized content by generating private-label e-newsletters for major organizations.• Spearheaded strategic shift from media subscriber model to securing up to 65% of support from foundations and individuals, like public radio and television; grew annual budget 100%. • Guided award-winning coverage by team of talented journalists. • Interviewed world leaders, including 5 Israeli prime ministers, several U.S. secretaries of state, numerous foreign ministers and heads of state, U.S. presidential candidates, and various U.N. ambassadors. • Created what became vital and influential weekly Jewish philanthropy blog covering range of news; broke news about the impact of Madoff scheme on Jewish philanthropic world. • Built video into the website content strategy, after experimenting through a $100K grant that funded production of videos aimed at the next-gen population.• Secured significant grants for special projects, including covering story of mass emigration of Jews from 15 former Soviet Socialist republics, and issue of intermarriage and Jewish identity. • Transformed Board of Directors into highly-functioning, engaged group of 60 influential, connected people who gave significant support, raised new funds and contributed valuable expertise.

Directed editorial operations for global Jewish news agency. Supervised staff writers and correspondents throughout the world covering stories about and affecting world Jewry. Coordinated coverage of the wars in Iraq, Israel, Lebanon and Bosnia; the struggle for emigration and human rights in the Soviet Union; the migration of Jews from Ethiopia; the Swiss bank restitution campaign; and a panoply of other issues affecting world Jewry. Oversaw the reporting and editing of several investigative series that led to significant reforms in the foundation and not-for-profit sector.
