• Direct and provide policy support to the National Caucus of Native American State Legislators (NCNASL) • Staff the Quad Caucus (convening of all four national caucuses of color) and the Women’s Legislative Network (WLN)• Research, analyze, summarize and disseminate information on race equity, women in legislatures and state-tribal policy; manage and maintain legislative tracking databases• Develop and review fundraising proposals, budgets and ensure project deliverable are met• Present to a variety of audiences on state-tribal relationships and NCNASL issues • Produce publications, web resources and meeting sessions• Build strong relationships, work collaboratively with legislators of color and staff at national partner organizations• Serve as the liaison to Hawaii and Indiana; Work with legislative leaders, manage incoming and outgoing efforts, maintain awareness of state issues and politics, plan outreach, conduct unique new legislator presentations• Respond to numerous requests for information on state and federal policies related to Native Americans, Women in state legislatures and equity at legislative institutions • Plan educational and professional development sessions and events for NCNASL, Quad and WLN: identify key topics, design agendas, manage funders and budget, recruit appropriate state and national experts and provide policy solutions for state legislators, draft statements and policy resolutions• Facilitate meetings and groups• Conduct surveys and maintain professional contacts with key national organizations, Native American legislators and legislative staff in states• Apply unique outreach techniques to reach Native American caucus members and communities • Work across conference to promote the work of Quad Caucus and WLN. Serve as liaison to NCSL staff for matters related to NCNASL, Quad and WLN.
