Conducted Association portfolio segment analyses to identify risk, present findings, and recommend solutions to enhance portfolio performance to senior management. This included leading an Association initiative to analyze the sources of inconsistent loan risk rating (probability of default and loss given default) and subsequently develop effective processes and monitoring to significantly improve rating quality.Regularly collaborated with the organization’s Database team and applicable business units to create valuable analyses that provided business insights. I regularly worked with Credit staff to review credit underwriting systems and enterprise decision engine data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.Served as Risk Management representation and an analysis resource for multiple strategic initiatives and regularly supported team members on various analytical projects and initiatives. This contribution was recognized through the opportunity to serve as the development partner for a departmental intern. As his primary resource, I was able to support him in researching higher risk loan characteristics to determine criteria predictive of future repayment performance.

Monitored, assessed, and reported on key risks associated with numerous portfolio segments as it relates to credit quality, performance, and factors impacting those measures.One major responsibility of the role was quality assurance of portfolio risk ratings and credit classifications. This focus led me to create and implement an enhanced collateral calculation to more accurately reflect loan collateral risk, which included leading communication to all Association staff, coordinating and facilitating meetings with stakeholders, and creating resource materials to support staff. I also coordinated with Sales, Credit, and Risk Management senior leadership to lead an initiative to promote credit classification consistency. This included developing and delivering training based on regulator guidance, leading live sessions with Credit staff, and creating e-course for retail Sales team members.Supporting other business units in their success was also a foundational component of this role. For instance, I led a cross-functional group that reviewed loans submitted to a new enterprise decision engine by validating data and providing feedback to front-end Credit and Sales users to improve accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency. In addition, I was asked to serve as a mentor for a departmental intern. Serving as her primary resource, she completed a project that identified over $600 million in financing opportunities to existing borrowers.

Served the Association's internal team members and external customers by analyzing and processing loan requests, loan servicing requests, and other credit services. This included decisioning loans within my delegated authority of $1 million, making recommendations for loans exceeding my authority, and establishing appropriate loan structure to manage risk. My total assigned portfolio exceeded $590 million working in coordination with nine loan officers.Chosen to help develop and facilitate credit training sessions for new and tenured employees to encourage a solid foundation of organizational credit knowledge.
