Matt has been designing since before he even knew what a designer was, spending his free time in his youth drafting movie posters and album covers of productions both real and imagined. In 2023, Matt became the owner and Creative Director of Synch, and continues to serve as lead designer and account executive for CHRISTUS St. Vincent, emphasizing CSV’s deep roots in northern New Mexico through his work.Prior to Synch, Matt was a production designer for Kenesson Design in Albuquerque, where he designed both print and online materials, mainly for non-profit organizations such as Albuquerque Museum Foundation, National Hispanic Cultural Center, and New Mexico Museum of Natural History. Key projects included a 258-page diabetes report to the U.S. Congress for Indian Health Services, a six-panel museum-style exhibit on the history of African Americans in Albuquerque, and promotional materials for the National Latino Writers Conference and Día del Libro.Previously, Matt worked as Art Director for Lucas Color Card, a card manufacturing company in Oklahoma City. He oversaw the entire print production process while the company grew from five employees to 30. Matt developed new card products that could be produced with Lucas’ equipment with little waste. Matt designed and worked on every job that entered the plant, including loyalty programs for nationally known brands such as Food Lion and AT&T Wireless. He worked closely with the press room to proof and check every job as it came off the presses, and received training in pre-press and color correction from Heidelberg.Matt earned his BFA in Graphic Design from Oklahoma State University, where his work was featured in juried student shows.
