My research was centered on the selective oxidative dehydrogenation of cyclohexane over doped nanoscale metal oxide catalysts.I was responsible for synthesis, characterization and testing of these metal oxides.Synthesis of these catalysts is achieved via Co-Precipitation, Incipient Wetness Impregnation and Thermal Decomposition.I used both in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques. In-situ techniques include various X-Ray Absorption and Scattering spectroscopies; XANES, EXAFS, SAXS and GISAXS.Ex-situ techniques include; TEM, ICP-AES, XRD, XPS and BETReaction products are monitored by an in-line differentially pumped mass spectrometer system that that I designed and built.
