My mother says that I was selling blocks of wood on the side of the road when I was four. From the earliest age I have wanted to invent things and run a company. Today, for better or worse, that dream has come true. As a younger man, 32, I do not have decades of experience in any particular industry. But where years of experience may lack, life experience takes over. Following High School I spent some time in a Catholic Seminary which gave me a great foundation and ensured my priorities would never be forgotten. By 2006 I had started and lost several businesses and moved to Steubenville OH with my wife to finish up a college degree. In the summer of 2007 my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer and by August the following year she had passed. At 24 years old I was a widower with little to no direction but a healthy dose of life. I loved being married, so I started dating and soon found myself engaged and looking forward to a new life. My new wife and I moved to North Dakota to live on the old farmstead.In 2011 I had an idea for a new kind of candle. After several months of experimenting we decided to turn our garage into a small candle factory and soon hired our first employee. Today Spiral Light Candles can be found in over 1200 retailers across the country and into Canada. With great margins and a refined production process we are excited to enter a new phase of our company where we pursue larger accounts and offer world class customer service.
