CLTs prohibit speculation and absentee ownership of land and housing, promote ecologically sound land-use practices, and preserve the long-term affordability of housing.Responsibilities include● Serve as a passionate and effective spokesperson for the organization; represent the programs and benefits of home ownership through the community land trust model to the public while establishing and maintaining working relationships and partnerships with them.● Create and steward relationships with the neighborhood associations, local, regional, and state governmental officials, realtors, housing professionals, attorneys, and lending partners who will assist MCLT and its homeowners; establish and build relationships with builders, architects and other professionals who will help MCLT further its purpose.● Monitor local, regional, state, and federal governmental initiatives related to MCLT’s mission, evaluate implications of proposed and current ordinances and legislation, and represent MCLT’s interests through collaborative participation in those governmental efforts.● Supervise and support staff including setting, evaluating annual strategic plans, and assuring that staff have the tools, systems, training, and support needed to be effective and efficient; conduct annual reviews of staff performance and staff structure; hire and terminate staff as necessary.● Work with MCLT Finance Committee and Treasurer to develop and maintain financial systems to manage and track the organization’s finances and provide for the effective response to the requirements of funding agencies.
