Growing up, I loved school, and dare I say, even enjoyed homework. My favorite classes were always science and math. I especially loved getting to do the (rare!) hands-on lab experiment in class. Choosing to major in Biology in was a no-brainer for me. While in college (and not hunched over a microscope in the lab), I spent time tutoring in the Writing Center and realized my love for writing and editing. After graduation, I combined my passions for science, education, and writing, and found myself an editorial position in K-12 Custom Publishing. I have spent the last decade in this educational publishing field and have developed many editorial, content development, and project management skills. I am currently a K-12 Custom Science Senior Editor/Editorial Project Manager and have become intimately familiar with the Next Generation Science Standards and their various state adaptations. I'm excited to be involved in STEM education and recognize its importance for the future.In my spare time, I am an avid reader who reads about 150 books a year and enjoys keeping up with trends in fiction and romance. I also enjoy gardening and walking my dog Hank.
