I work with Local Public Agencies (LPA’s) and the Mid-America Regional Counsel of Governments (MARC) as a planner in a project management style role on federally and state funded transportation projects to ensure compliance during the planning and engineering phases. I review and ensure accuracy of bidding documents, engineering service contracts, right of way plans, and various other documents as needed. I aid in the review of federal funding applications. I serve as a liaison between the LPA and MARC and other departments in MODOT. I efficiently and effectively communicate with city, county, and engineering contacts to ensure projects are moving forward in every aspect of the project including Right of Way, Environmental Clearance, Invoice Submittals, and the development of project Plans, Specifications, and Estimates. As a public servant, I take pride in working in an industry that keeps people connected via travel. I inspected and permitted outdoor advertising and junkyards along Missouri's Federally controlled highways. I was responsible for 20 counties in the Northwest Missouri and Kansas City area, and I worked with a team to ensure Missouri was compliant with the Federal Highway Beautification Act. In this position I educated and communicated with the general public about Missouri's Outdoor Advertising and Junkyard laws. I was in frequent contact with individials from state, county, and city government offices in matters of the state law compliance, zoning and land parcel resesrch, and conflict resolution. I processed applications, maintained confidentiality, and provided excellent customer service. I research and problem solve. I consistantly demonstrated knowledge and adaptability in technological capabilities. I also worked toward promoting safety on Missouri's travelways by following safety guidelines myself, and I assisted in winter weather and snow removal operations.
