Structural Analysis Engineer
As a structural analyst, I was responsible for evaluating the structural integrity of gas turbine assemblies and components. I used a combination of finite element modeling techniques (FEA) and hand calculations to analyze and validate strength, fatigue, vibrational response, buckling, and other structural concerns. I used a combination of finite element modeling techniques (FEA) and hand calculations to analyze and validate strength, fatigue, vibrational response, buckling, and other structural concerns. I worked with a cross functional team to iterate turbine design from a preliminary design level to a detailed design level ready for manufacturing. At a project’s conception, I created an analysis plan detailing boundary conditions, mesh requirements, material selection, submodeling techniques, and other FEM details. After building and subsequently solving an FEM, I post-processed and documented all results to share with both our internal team and directly with our customers. At the culmination of my most recent project, I was selected to present over 3,000 hours of structural analysis work to our largest customer during an in-person design review. I worked with a variety of analysis software including Abaqus, ANSYS Workbench, NX, and ANSYS ADPL.In this roll, a primary focus of mine was achieving greater efficiency and fewer errors through implementation of innovative tool developments and improvements. I placed an emphasis on establishing and updating processes to increase automation and move towards process optimization. Even while adhering to very strict engineering standards and quality processes, I believe there is always room to make advances and build on past experience and knowledge. Show less

It only took a few months for my analytical and self-starting nature to take over. I noticed the inefficiencies in our processes and tools, so I taught myself VBA and set out to revolutionize the program. I developed and integrated innovative tools into our quality system to track quality data, reduce errors in reporting, increase efficiency of all our daily tasks, and organize and report data in a meaningful format. I constructed Microsoft Access and SQL database systems to automatically monitor, track, and report statuses of parts moving through the quality inspection process. I drove an increase in automation and innovation of our quality processes and tools that increased efficiency by over 30% while reducing errors by 60%. Show less
Mechanical Engineering Departmental Honors Research
While in undergrad, I began mechanical engineering research through the Honors College at Clemson University. I studied the unique articulating structure of the seahorse tail for biomimetic applications. I utilized 3D modeling techniques, rapid prototyping, hands on testing, and analytical structural analysis techniques to determine the benefits of a square seahorse tail. I was responsible for producing a thesis combining both analytical and experimental results in contribution to publishable… Show more While in undergrad, I began mechanical engineering research through the Honors College at Clemson University.
