At IBM Digital Analytics, we provide detailed web analytics and marketing optimization solutions by tracking customer data for many of the internet's largest retail companies. We provide live data as well as customized reports with around the clock uptime and availability as our mission.As an Operations Engineer, some of my job skills & responsibilities include:-Administration of thousands of Linux Systems / Application servers in a production enterprise environment.-24/7/365 on-call rotation to ensure SLA requirements and cloud infrastructure for client data collection with 99.99% availability.-Level 3 world-wide support for issues with SaaS based product offerings.-Automate deployment of new infrastructure & configuration management of over 700 CentOS/RHEL servers using Git, Puppet, Ansible & Amazon AWS.-Deploy, administer and maintain distributed-computing clusters of Apache Hadoop and its various components including Yarn, HDFS, HBase and Hive.-Software development & operational maintenance with a focus on Linux Shell (Bash) scripting.-Basic SQL (Oracle+PostgreSQL) database administration along with troubleshooting and tuning.-Supporting JBoss, Tomcat, Memcached, Apache HTTP and other custom application services.-Configuring load balancing of web facing servers using F5 and Citrix Netscaler products.-Managing SSL certificate renewals and installations.-Designated project management of quarterly maintenances as well as multiple other infrastructure projects using Agile and Scrum management strategies.-Working with multiple internal teams simultaneously to ensure system reliability and client satisfaction.-Creating detailed documentation for problem solving for reference regarding production errors / regressions.
