Michael Cooper has been working with technology for over forty years. He earned his Regents BA degree from West Virginia University. He began his career with the Fridien Corporation and advanced through several levels of Field Engineering positions. Michael then joined Digital Equipment Corp. where he continued to advance through several management positions including District Operations and Business Management. Michael has experienced the rapid change in the information technology field and learned to adapt to these changes. In 2000 he left the private sector to begin a career in higher education. He accepted a position to establish the West Virginia University Technology Support Center. The WVU Technology Support Center delivers quality personal computer remedial services to all WVU institutional departments and all student/staff/faculty owned equipment. The Technology Support Center is a joint effort by the WVU Office of Information Technology and Student Affairs. In addition, he manages the software licensing program for West Virginia University. In 2005, Michael became involved in establishing an Information Security Training and Awareness Program at West Virginia University.
