Before increasing my educational skills, I served 5.5 years in the United States Marine Corps as a Tactical Air Defense Controller. In doing this I achieved various skills and experiences to include personnel and equipment management, communication, professionalism, problem solving and decision making, and data management. June of 2020 I decided to leave the Marine Corps to pursue a bachelor’s degree in human resource management at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, as I enjoy the human resource side of management in working with personnel, conflict resolution and negotiation, developing and implementing training programs, and staffing and allocation. During my education I started working at the SIUE Campus Recreation Facility in 2021 as a fitness attendant and then earned the position of facility supervisor in May of 2022. As a facility supervisor I manage the recreational facility departments of members services (reception desk and equipment issue), fitness attendants, lifeguards, and all pertain events and activities held within. I achieved my degree in December of 2023 and continued to further my education by working towards my master’s in management for information systems with an expected graduation of December 2024.
